A Music Filled 2026

What’s going down in 2026!

Well, quite a number of things. Once again, I have the honour of working with many fantastic national and international musicians. Here’s a selection.

On Wednesday 16th September, Ensemble Reconsil will premiere ‘bordering into something else’ a timecode-supported polytemporal concerto-type work for horn and five soloists at at REAKTOR, Geblergasse 40, 1170 Vienna, Austria. I hope to be able to attend.

January and February will see the completion of a collection of 12 organ preludes composed for and dedicated to the U.K-based organist Kat Farn.

Kat is also performing and recording a selection of organ works, including ‘the delightful melancholy of this place’, an 18 minute organ piece dedicated to my friend and fellow composer, Alastair White. As well as these, my first and second ‘amorphic hymns’ are being recorded by Martin Ulrich in Switzerland later in the year. More details about these projects as I have them.

Over the summer and autumn, I’ll be working in Belgium with pianist Geert Callaert on a double CD of my piano music. More details about the project, dates, content and the CD label later this year.

Substantial solo works for Don-Paul Kahl (without quiet voicessolos for Alto Saxophone, a 40-minute cycle of 18 solo variants), and  Antoni Majewski (born of flesh, bone and brain’ an 18-minute solo for violoncello) will be made sound this year.

Alongside these, a CD recording of ‘as they go into the sea’ a 17-minute solo for bassoon performed by Mavroudes Dakis Troullos (GR) will be produced later this year to join a CD collection of 21st Century pieces for bassoon (more details to follow).

I’ll be able to release more news later in the year as the fruition or confirmation of various other collaborations not mentioned here takes shape.

As ever, my sincerest thanks to Patrons, supporters, friends and colleagues, without whom my professional life would be the poorer.

Very best wishes for 2026

Marc
