Robert Laidlow Singularity Sounds – AI & the Internet in Musical Performance, Oxford

An ambitious musical programme at the intersection of advanced technology, post-Internet aesthetic, and virtuosic performance. The concert presents a pair of substantial experimental compositions developed by Robert Laidlow in creative collaboration with the performers David Zucchi (saxophone) and Stephanie Lamprea (soprano) over the last eighteen months.

Yshani Perinpanayagam Ruination, Royal Opera House, London
7 December 2024 – 4 January 2025

Yshani is Musical Director for Lost Dog and the Royal Ballet’s award-winning co-production Ruination, returning to the Linbury Theatre this festive season.

Stick in the Wheel complete their UK tour with dates in Newport (Sun 1/12), Birmingham (Mon 2/12), Liverpool (Tue 3/12),  Cumbria (Thu 5/12) and Lewes (Sat 7/12).

The world premiere of Angela’s piece My Skin setting text by librettist Kendra Preston Leonard, and performed by soprano Stephanie Lamprea and cellist Jessica Kerr. Part of Illuminate Women’s Music 2024-2025 season.

The world premiere of Sissy études: Houdini (2024) by Joanna Ward and Laurie Ward, commissioned by LCMF, will be presented as part of an exciting evening of contemporary music. This new work offers a contemplative exploration of the life and legacy of the renowned magician, blending innovative sound textures with a deep reflection on magic, art, and love.

Alice Beckwith Love Came Down at Christmas, Sale, Manchester

Premiere of Alice’s Love Came Down at Christmas performed by Sale Choral Society, setting Christina Rossetti’s text for choir and piano. The piece was shortlisted for the 2024 Sir David Wilcocks Carol Competition.

This year’s winter solstice sees the release of the first track from Music Patron composer Colin Riley’s new album The Year Round. A collection of 12 songs, one track will be released each month, at exactly at the time of year it evokes.

Emily Peasgood  Listening Desk, venues across the UK

Listening Desk is an interactive sound sculpture that invites people to access and create soundscapes with sound archives. The Listening Desk democratises access to sound archives in a fun and playful way. Installed at 10 locations around the UK.

Colin Riley Cutty Sark soundscape, London

An immersive ambient set of soundtracks for each of the decks of the Cutty Sark (in all weathers) created by composer Colin Riley and violist Nic Pendlebury (Sonic Collaborations). The music uses an orchestra of electric violas alongside treated piano and samples mixed with sounds from the boat.

The music is available exclusively as a download EP on the Sonic Collaborations Bandcamp.
