A brand-new national competition for classical singers and pianists, shining a spotlight on British women composers of the past century and the extraordinary art songs that deserve their place in today’s canon.
Semi-finalists Beth Moxon and Chris Pulleyn will perform on Monday 19 January, and if successful, will proceed to the Finals on Saturday 24 January where they have programmed Close Season from Alice’s song cycle Five Armitage Songs – commissioned by the 2024 &Piano Festival – setting poems by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage poems.
