It’s a rainy July morning down here in Cornwall, with a bit of a chill in the air! Good job my van warms up pretty quickly when I put the kettle on.

Crean Folk Camp

Luckily the weather was much better for us last week on the Crean Folk Camp, here’s a little video all about it and what’s coming up next!

This video features a tune by Tommie Black-Roff, the recording of which was obtained at the camp’s concert on the final afternoon.

One particularly special moment on the Crean Folk Camp was writing a new composition with instrumentalists Lucy Huzzard (of Lucy and Hazel), Lou Mather and Kat Brendal. Here is an initial outline of the piece:

New Release – Preview of Awakening

On the 19th of July I’ll be releasing ‘Awakening’, which is the first track from my new EP out on Cuculi Records this summer. Folded into the track is the Irish tune Inisheer (written by Thomas Walsh in the 80s) which is traditionally played up in the key of G as an air (a lament or ‘listening piece’).
