As Advent begins on Sunday, I’d like to share a new video with you which may perhaps inspire you to write your own Christmas carol.

Christmas – celebrating the anniversary of Jesus’ birth – has inspired many joyful customs, of which one is the practice of setting wonderful texts to music as carols.

I talked to Music Patron about my approach to writing a new arrangement of my Christmas carol ‘Love Came Down at Christmas’ for St George’s Singers, as well as the creative process for writing for choirs and some of my favourite carols!

A good one to watch with a cup of coffee I hope.

The first performance of ‘Love Came Down at Christmas’ arranged for Children’s Choir, SATB, and piano will be given by St George’s Singers at St George’s Church, Stockport, SK2
