Recruiting: New Head of Music Patron

2 January 2025

Lead the Next Chapter of Music Patron's Growth and Impact

Music Patron is seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial leader to guide the next phase of growth for our innovative digital philanthropy platform.

This is a unique opportunity to champion the creation of new music in the UK, spearheading strategies to scale our impact and drive the organisation toward long-term sustainability.

About the Role

As the new Head of Music Patron, you will lead a growing initiative at a pivotal moment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving growth in patron numbers through digital engagement and strategic partnerships
  • Overseeing the scaling of Music Patron’s operations
  • Providing visionary leadership, fostering community, and advocating for Music Patron’s mission across cultural sectors
  • Leading fundraising efforts to ensure financial sustainability

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on innovation and collaboration and who is motivated to reimagine how music is funded and supported in the UK.

About Music Patron

Music Patron connects passionate audiences directly with composers, providing a platform for the sustainable support of new music. Since our public launch in 2024, we’ve built a vibrant community of 27 composers and over 100 patrons, with ambitious plans for growth.

Our platform enables composers to share their creative journeys through updates, performances, and personal insights, while patrons make regular donations to sustain music creation. Unlike traditional models, we operate without charging fees to composers or patrons, funding operations instead through GiftAid and small top-up donations.

Music Patron is poised to expand its impact, aiming to support 100+ composers and grow our patron base to over 1,000 within the next three years.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience in scaling digital platforms, community building, and fundraising
  • A dynamic and entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of leading organisations through periods of growth and transformation
  • Passion for new music and a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills

This is a hands-on, creative leadership role, well-suited to someone eager to navigate the challenges and opportunities of a startup environment in the arts sector.

  • Contract: 4-5 days per week, initially on a 12-month consulting contract
