Today, we’re excited to share an important milestone in Music Patron’s journey. As we approach a year since our official launch, we’re entering a new stage of development: preparing to become an independent organisation.
Since Music Patron’s inception in 2021, we have been generously incubated by Sound and Music, the UK’s national charity for new music. Their support—along with our growing community of over 100 patrons and continued support from the Boltini Trust—has made this next phase of growth possible.
Over the next two years, we’ll gradually transition towards full independence, with separation expected in 2026. For now, nothing changes. We’ll continue connecting composers with patrons, just as we always have.
Who will lead this next phase?
To guide Music Patron through this period of transition, we are recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This follows our recent search for a Head of Music Patron, applicants of which will be automatically considered.
The CEO will play a vital role in shaping Music Patron’s next phase, driving growth, and ensuring composers receive even more support at a time when new music needs it most.
To ensure a robust and transparent recruitment process, we’ve partnered with Saxton Bampfylde. Full details, including the information pack, recruitment timeline and job listing are available through Saxton Bampfylde. Any recruitment-related inquiries should be directed to [email protected]
What happens now?
Business as usual. Throughout the transition, we’ll continue doing what we do best: connecting composers with patrons.
A gradual transition. We’re taking intentional steps and ensuring transparency and stability at every stage.
A continued relationship with Sound and Music. While we move towards independence, and beyond, we’ll continue working together to secure the future of new music.
This is an exciting moment for Music Patron, and we couldn’t have reached this stage without our incredible patrons, composers and supporters. We look forward to shaping this next chapter with you.
